Hi! We're Andy, Laura, Natalie (12) and Lexie (9). Three years ago we traded our successful business and hectic life in the suburbs in search of something more meaningful and closer to our hearts. We now live aboard a sailing catamaran, currently based in the Caribbean and Bahamas. We're crazy passionate about the ocean, protecting and conserving it for all future generations with a special soft spot for sharks. Our journey has taken us from stunning, diverse environments to areas that have been horribly degraded by overfishing and choked out by plastic waste. Seeing how paradise should be, and how it is suffering at our hands, has strengthened our resolve to share our experiences and hopefully inspire others to go out and see it for themselves, to fall in love with the ocean so they too will fight to protect it. As sharks are one of its most misunderstood inhabitants we find it incredibly gratifying when we are able to give others the confidence and opportunity to see and experience sharks in he water in a safe environment...there is nothing quite like your first shark encounter <3. Likewise speaking to locals as we travel from island to island (especially kids and fishermen who are always keen to talk) is another way we can educate, change perceptions and really make a difference at a local level.

SUNNY is a Chinese-American Actor and his wife DIZZY, a famous singer are freedivers, artists, conservationists and our One Ocean Global Star Ambassadors! These two love freediving with sharks, especially whale sharks, and we are thrilled to have them apart of our team! Sunny and Dizzy help with our global efforts to protect healthy ocean ecosystems, shark conservation and getting the word out about shark fin soup and shark finning. Coming from China, their voices have a large impact in educating and reducing the demand for the toxic shark fin soup dish.

CRYSTAL DOMBROW

Crystal holds a Master's in marine biodiversity and conservation from Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego. For her graduate research, she analyzed the science, economics, and policy influencing shark conservation and management in the eastern Pacific Ocean in collaboration with Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC) and NOAA staff. From 2017-2018, she was a research assistant for trophic ecology studies at NOAA's Southwest Fisheries Science Center, where she often worked with shark bycatch from local fisheries. In 2017, she won the Human Impact category of Ocean Conservancy's Marine Wildlife and Seascape Photo Contest for documenting shark entanglement in eastern Australia's Shark Control Program nets. She plans to continue attending international policy, fisheries management, and scientific meetings to contribute to global shark conservation.

JESS is a software engineer working at a tech company in Silicon Valley. She graduated from Boston University in 2014 with degrees in Marine Sience and Physical Geography. Although her career took an unexpected turn, her passion for the marine life and ecosystem  never faded. She loves being in the ocean, and has snorkeled and dived with Sandbar sharks, Galapagos sharks, Bottlenose dolphins, California sea lions and sea turtles. She recently picked up scuba diving and underwater photography, hoping to share the wonders of our ocean to the world. She also loves playing with her fur children Muu and Doppler Kendo. Her goal is to help protect the ocean by spreading awareness in her community through talks, photographs, social media and by organizing cleanup events.

CASSIE PAUMARD

Being born in France and traveling the world with my family at such a young age, Iʻm privileged and grateful for the insight Iʻve been given on how precious life is. Growing up, it saddened me to see hw ignorant my generation was to the current issues our world is facing. I made it my lifeʻs mission to inspire people to see the beauty I see in the world. At the age of 13, I started Saving Wildlife Project. Starting out small, I raised funds for different organizations concerning various endangered species. Now I go to schools and educate students on the plight of sharks, marine species, as well as other wildlife and lead educational tours at sea and on land. Being an ambassador for One Ocean Diving has opened so many doors for me, as a person and an organization. Itʻs led me to start my own shark research here in San Diego and given me the confidence to do so. Starting at a young age, Iʻve always had a deep respect for sharks. Iʻm currently studying mako shark behavior, among other aspects of our local sharks, and working on banning local restaurants from serving shark meat. If Iʻm able to change the perspective of sharks of at least one person a day, thatʻs all one needs to make a change in my opinion. Start small, but be consistent; consistency is key. We need to defend those animals that cannot be heard and cannot voice their pain. We need to stand together and teach the world that coexistence is possible.
