How To Be Prepared

PARKING: Please park by the little brown restroom building near the harbor entrance on the back side (west) of Haleiwa Joe's Restaurant.
WHEN: General tour times vary by season and can be seen on our online booking system with live availability (weather permitting). We suggesting booking one of the early morning charters as they generally have the least wind and the calmest conditions. We also advise an early morning charter for those who are prone to sea sickness.
RESTRICTIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Each person coming on the boat must sign a Release of Liability Waiver before coming aboard and participating in our Pelagic program. **If you are UNDER 18 years of age, and your parents or legal guardian won’t be present at the boat harbor to sign the waiver on your behalf, please email our office at oneoceandiving@gmail.com. We can send the waiver ahead of time for your parent/legal guardian to print out and sign prior to your charter with us (and for you to bring with you to the harbor).
Swimming and Snorkeling Ability:
Basic swimming ability required and prior snorkeling experience is required.
Height
There is a 4ft minimum height requirement to get in the water.
Weight
Due to safety regulations, there is a weight restriction/limit of 250lbs per person. Persons over 250 lbs, please book two spots under the same name and notify our office by text +1-808-649-0018 so they can schedule a second safety crew member. This is for safety and comfort as each crew member is certified to life up to 125 lbs for a total of 250 bs. In the unlikely event of an emergency, we would be considered negligent if we didn't have the physical ability to assist. We retain the right to deny boarding and/or permission to go in the water if there are not sufficient safety crew available. Please contact the office in advance if you or someone in your group exceeds the weight limit. If you are a taller person, larger muscles, or naturally larger build but still in good fitness and able to swim against a strong current and pull yourself out of the water without
WHAT TO BRING:

Sunglasses
Water
Cameras
Small hand-held cameras are not permitted in the water.
You can bring a GoPro but it does need to be on an extended pole. We have extras if you need one but recommend purchasing GoPro footage with your dive so you can get the full experience of being present.
A Change of Clothes
Biodegradable Sunscreen
Please don’t use or bring Aerosol spray sunscreen- we have extra sunscreen on board if needed.
We Provide Masks, Snorkels and Fins
You are welcome to bring your own though we advise against anything white or bright in color.
If you bring your own gear:
Masks and snorkels must be black or clear and cannot had any bright colors or white on them.
A rash Guard or Wet Suit
Not required though recommended for jelly fish protection- we can get Comb Jellyfish floating by irregularly.
We have jelly fish spray and no-itch Gell on board if you do get stung.
We have UV Xcel rash guards on board for you to borrow during your program, just ask the captain when you board.
We do not provide wet suits.
Please refrain from wearing bright colors or white.
WHAT TO KNOW:
Medical Conditions, Medications and Physical Health
If you are knowingly diabetic or allergic to bee stings or jelly fish, please let us know as soon as you board the boar and be sure to bring any necessary medications on board with you.
Please inform the crew of any special medical conditions and medications in the comments/notes section when you make your booking and when you board the boat. Safety is our top priority.
You should be physically fit and able to swim and snorkel with ease in waves and against strong current.

The in-water portion of this activity is recommended for healthy, physically fit, and active people only and it is possible you could fall and slip or be hit by the boat in the water if you're not paying attention. You always have the option to get back on board the vessel and you always have the option not to go in the water. The program is still extremely educational and exciting from on top of the boat.
Seasickness
Take a dramamine the night before and 1 hour before boarding the boat to prevent seasickness.
If you feel seasick while on board, look at the horizon.
You are welcome to bring any ginger lozenges or snacks to help with nausea.
Storage
There is dry storage on board for bags/backpacks but please limit your items to one bag per person.
There is no restroom on board, there are restroom facilities at the harbor to use right before departure.
Age and Height Restrictions
Persons under 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian or have them sign the release of liability and assumption of risk waiver prior to departure.
Due to risks associated with an open water environment infants are not allowed on board. Ride alongs must be at least 3 years old. All ages under 7 must have a snug fitting life jacket.
We have a minimum height requirement of at least 4ft tall to get in the water and bring their own fins (preferably all black or blue) to ensure a snug fit. Must have properly fitting fins to enter the water, otherwise watching from the boat is still a fun and educational experience.
Pregnancy:
We highly recommend against coming on the boat if you are pregnant. The boat is a wet, slippery and unstable platform with many tripping hazards and hard surfaces.
